who shot and killed a san francisco man early this morning. kron 4's scott rates walks us through what happened. >> reporter: this call was about one block ago. at the oakland police department at this intersection at clay /ninth and ninth street. around 3:00 a.m.. shots were fired and this man was shot multiple times walking on this intersection. investigators believe that it was an occupant inside another car that shot at the driver of the other car. he was taken to the hospital where he died. hwe know that he is a 37 year-old man. we checked with the oakland police department and we are hoping for some type of witness that can come forward. we are offering a $10,002 reward. scott rates, kron 4. >> a big pay off for voters in san jose. tomorrow, the city's minimum wage will go up two dollars.that goes for both part-time and full-time employees. it also includes those working for tips. kron four's philippe djegal shows us how it all adds up. >> reporter: so, this is how it works. and, we'll use part-time workers as an example. someone now making eight dollars an hour, six hours a day,

. a teen home for spring break is shot to death in san francisco's mission district. his family is completely shaken tonight. kron 4's alecia reid has the latest on the victim that was just a few steps from his door when he was tragically gunned down. >> tragedy.especially happening in front of his gate. he had so much potential to excel. family members tell us 19 year old jacob val-di-viezo was a top scholar and athlete at raritan high before moving on to lewis and clark in oregon as an honor student on a football scholarship. in town for the week, he was walking home with a friend just after 3-am saturday morning when police say a gray sedan pulled up --- a hispanic man in his 30's hopped out, asked jacob if he was in a gang, but before giving him a chance to speak --- shot him. witnesses say the family rushed downstairs, only to find jacob lying on these stairs. his father held him until he was rushed to the hospital where he died. one after the other, people poured in to express their condolencesas they question how this could've happened to a guy with such a bright future.

(male announcer) this is the bay area news station, kron 4 news starts now. >> bar scene in downtown walnut creek. close to three weeks ago, the police chief announced low staffing has led to the elimination of the downtown patrol program. new at 11.kron four's philippe djegal spoke with bar managere w doing their best to keep weekend nights peaceful. >> reporter: as part of their conditional use permit agreement, downtown walnut creek bar managers say they stagger closing times on busy nights. shutting down sections of the bar every 15 minutes after one o'clock in the morning. having earlier last calls for alcohol. and closing down entirely before two o'clock in the morning. bar owners say they have noticed fewer officers patrolling downtown on foot on fridays, and saturdays, but because the downtown patrol program has been so successful over the past year. they say, so far,
outside at san francisco and the bay bridge. it might be drizzly.but things have been clearing up. jacqueline - you say it's expected to warm up? >> jacqueline: he is expected to to warm up. the rainfall as you just mentioned has been tapering off. even some lingering showers persistent through the sierras and decreasing the clouds. and to the east and to the south. rainfall totals most in the north-bay at mount st. helena. and it has been light but showery for the most part. traces at most locations. as a duty to outside at the golden gate visibility is slightly reduced. you can see that our different visibility stations with the exception of half moon bay. for the overnight hours decreasing clouds. tomorrow even warmer but breezy. who will take a look at it the weekend forecast, coming up. >> catherine: extra security. tonight, the san rafael police watched over a protest at a town hall meeting on affordable housing. but as kron four's philippe djegal reports. the crowd remained peaceful. >> reporter: san rafael police officers stand among the crowd. and, watch from a distance.
as we get them. >> a late night shooting at a san francisco nightclub left three people hurt. tonight -- the gunmen remain on the loose. kron 4's alecia reid tells us how it all went down, and has an update on the victims' conditions. >> reporter: shattered glass and a blood stained street are remnants of a late night triple shooting at the 330 ritch nightclub in san francisco's south of market neighborhood. authorities tell us one of the victims is still hospitalized. his condition has improved from critical to stable. the other two men were treated and are expected to be ok. witnesses that were inside the club tell us there were rival crews at the friday night party and an argument ensued. police say that altercation initiated the first round of gunfire inside the club. neighbors also heard more than a dozen shots outside the club, and at this public parking lot just down the block. witnesses say the suspects were walking in the streets with their guns drawn. for fear of safety, a cousin of one of the victims did not want his face on camera, but explains the chaos. >> all i heard wa
in the mission district of san francisco. and, as kron four's philippe djegal reports. it happened while she was trying to protect her grandson from being assaulted. the san francisco police say officers are already making extra rounds in the area of 24th and capp in the mission district. and, will continue to do so in light of thursday night's attack. police say a 16-year-old boy was returning home with his grandmother. after her doctor's appointment at a nearby hospital. when at around six o'clock in the evening. four teenage boys attacked the 16-year-old on the sidewalk. he was punched several times. and a tooth was knocked out. police say the suspects then stole his grandmother's purse. when she tried fighting off her grandson's attackers. police say this area is considered a hot spot in the mission district. it's near bart, several bus stops and businesses that close before it gets dark. but despite warning the public against it. police say people continue to use electronic devices while in the area. or, carry large bags and purses. which, police say, attracts theives. this couple has l

. >> in san francisco, four people will stand trial for the murder of a man who allegedly lured a young girl into prostitution. two of the suspects are the girl's parents. 22-year-old calvin sneed was killed in a drive by shooting in san francisco's bayview district in june. prosecutors saylupe mercado and barry gilton, blamed sneed for getting their 17- year-old daughter into prostitution. defense attorneys argue sneed was a gang member who had no shortage of enemies who wanted him dead. >> it's been nearly one year since the disappearance of sierra lamar. the 15-year-old cheerleader from morgan hill was last seen march 16 last year. while on her way to school. her body has not been found - and the search continues. this man-- antolin garcia torres-- was arrested and charged with kidnapping and murdering her - but has yet to enter a formal plea. today we talked to sierra's mother. >> i do not have any closure. i still have unanswered questions. there is not been a person of and trust and we have not discovered a body. it has been a year later. >> catherine: on saturday, the search for sierr
